Yu För Ner (/ju/ /fo˞r/ [simple] [wave (ocean); surf]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Rúpoůj Aysh Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Yu För Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Yu För Ner was founded by Gadshèj Chebedric, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Yu För Ner has a yearly average temperature of 7°C (44°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool -10°C (14°F). Yu För Ner receives an average of 149 cm/y (58 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Yu För Ner covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4880 m (16010 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Yu För Ner was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1390, by Gadshèj Chebedric. The establishment of Yu För Ner was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Gadshèj Chebedric struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Yu För Ner as a prison colony.

Yu För Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yu För Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Yu För Ner is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of premissive flagstone streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Yu För Ner's size could have. Yu För Ner's well-designed, yet cheep are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Right off the bat Yu För Ner hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The influx of wealth has brought with it an influx of relaxation. Everywhere you look people are enjoying their prosperity in a slow, casual, and deliberate manner. There’s no rush for anything anywhere you look.

Civic Infrastructure

Yu För Ner has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Yu För Ner. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Yu För Ner's parks.

Yu För Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Yu För Ner.

Yu För Ner has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Yu För Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Yu För Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Yu För Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Yu För Ner has an Arts Academy which provides higher education in many fields including math, language arts, philosophy, engineering, and other such disciplines.

Yu För Ner possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Yu För Ner's grid is powered by mana accumulators.

Yu För Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Yu För Ner's natural decorations nor waterways.

Yu För Ner has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Yu För Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Yu För Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Yu För Ner's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Yu För Ner most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.

The Fogwarden near Yu För Ner are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Yu För Ner's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves line dance to channel Invocation energies of tier 2 via moments of science.

Economy

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Yu För Ner was attacked by savage cyclopss living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Yu För Ner lost 102 people, 353 livestock, and 55 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 48, when members of Yu För Ner's militia enacted an operation to capture a particular research site intact. The operation was complicated by the army being put into a position where they could only choose between two terrible options. The conflict ended with the defense of the research site against a siege, which ended in a crushing defeat for Yu För Ner's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Yu För Ner's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
